One common saying is “Religions are all just different roads, leading to the same same God.” However anyone who knows even just a little bit about world religions knows they all contradict one another. All religions do have one thing in common though: how we attain eternal life. They all believe you have to work for or earn eternal life, except for one that is! The only one represented on the front that doesn’t believe you have to work for eternal life is Christianity. To understand what I am talking about, let’s take a look at the Ten Commandments: #9 says, “You shall not lie.” Ever lied before? Then the Bible says you are a liar and deserve the lake of fire! #8 says, “You shall not steal.” Ever stolen before? The the Bible says you are a thief and cannot enter the Kingdom of heaven! #3 says, “You shall not take Gods name in vain.” Ever taken God’s name in vain? Then the Bible says you are a blasphemer! Ever looked with lust? Then you have broken the 7th commandment, which is to commit adultery. If you broken these commandments then by your own admission you are a lying, thieving, blasphemous adulterer at heart and as a lawbreaker deserve to be punished, and we only looked at four of the Ten Commandments! Now here is where Christianity radically differs from all other religions. The Bible teaches that there is nothing you can do to save yourself from future punishment in Hell. No matter how much “good” you have done or will do, you still deserve to be punished for your sins. Your self-righteous works can’t wash away your sins! But, God desires to show you forgiveness, grace and mercy. That is why He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on a cross for your sins. He paid your fine with his life blood, was buried and then rose on the third day proving he was God. Jesus said “ I am the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father accept through me” John 14:6. The Bible says “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” Acts 4:12. Jesus is the only way to God. Sadly many will not accept the righteous way God has provided and try and find there own righteousness ...hence all the different man made religions. What a sad day it will be if you stand before God on Judgment day to discover you forsook the only true way back to God! Salvation is a FREE GIFT that is available to ANYONE who will confess and forsake their sinful ways (Repent) and trust in Jesus Christ, and him alone for their salvation. So get right with God today!
